Our story

One hive, sixty thousand bees and a street called Condover.

Our locally harvested, small-batch artisan honey is the product of around 60,000 Northern Beaches bees.

Treehouse Hives operates from North Balgowlah, New South Wales, with one double-height hive that makes use of two separate honey production methods: Flow Hive honey and cold-strained comb honey. Every jar carries the name of the street it comes from.

Flow Hive Honey

$12RRP per 500 g

With patented Flow Hive technology we harvest in small batches directly from the hive to your jar, without the blending of conventional harvesting, for the freshest, cleanest-tasting honey.

Natural comb

Cold-Strained Comb Honey

$12RRP per 500 g

Our natural comb honey is cold strained by centrifuge and bottled into glass jars, resulting in a combination of flavours unique to the lower Northern Beaches flora.

From hive to jar

Harvested by hand, a few jars at a time.

There's no factory between our bees and your toast. The honey goes from the hive in our North Balgowlah backyard straight into the jar.

Our double-height Flow Hive, painted in layered greens like rolling hills, with bees flying around the entrance in front of a timber lattice

The hive

One double-height Flow Hive, home to around 60,000 bees foraging the lower Northern Beaches.

Harvest day: five freshly filled jars of dark honey lined up on the hive roof while honey drains from the Flow Hive tap into a jar

The harvest

Honey flows from the frame through the tap and straight into the jar. Comb honey is cold strained by centrifuge, then bottled in glass.
